Description

HEXAGON PLANET GENERATOR – Create and use a generated hexagonal planet in your game.

Features:

  • Generation of the planet in the editor and runtime
  • Generation in the editor makes it possible to save a planet as a static mesh
  • Generate continents
  • Spawn static mesh (tree, stone and etc.) objects on hexagons by surface type during generation and automatically convert them to Hierarchical Instanced Static Mesh
  • Save and load a planet with surface objects

  • free asset included “SkyBox: Lonely Space”
  • updated UV
  • ability to split hexagon faces by texture
  • grid generated as mesh

Note: the planet always contains 12 pentagons.

Technical Details

Update:

  • accelerated planet generation by 10 times
  • added AStar navigation
  • added example of RTS control
  • added AI example with resource mining
  • added a sphere under the planet for better lighting visual performance
  • direction light replaced with spot light
  • added variable with center points of hexagons to pre-calculated date
  • updated wiki tutorial
  • fixed minor bugs
